Jason Price is a distinguished aviator with a deep-rooted passion for flight, safety, and education. Beginning his aviation journey as a private pilot, Jason quickly earned his CFI and CFII ratings in 2004, along with a Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) certificate. In 2005, he achieved his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) certifications.
He founded Mach 1 Aviation in 2006 and launched it as a flight school in 2007. Under Jason’s leadership, Mach 1 became a Cirrus Aircraft Training Center in 2008, earned Platinum CSIP status in 2010, and was designated a Cirrus Platinum Training Center in 2014.
In 2016, the school achieved Part 141 certification, affirming its adherence to the industry’s highest training standards. Jason also worked as an airline pilot from 2018 to 2022 before transitioning to his current role as a Gulfstream pilot.
Beyond his professional roles, Jason has served as President of the Van Nuys Propeller Aircraft Association, Chair of the Van Nuys Citizen Advisory Council, and Board Member of the Cirrus Pilot Association.
With over 13,500 flight hours, including 9,500 instructional hours and 7,000 hours in Cirrus aircraft, Jason’s experience is extensive. He is type-rated in the Gulfstream 550 and 650, Cirrus Vision Jet, Embraer 170 and 190, and Citation Sovereign Plus. He currently flies the G650, G550, and SF50.
Jason has instructed every generation and model of Cirrus aircraft—from the G1 SR20 to the G6 SR22T. His legacy is defined by excellence in training, dedication to safety, and a passion for inspiring the next generation of aviators.
